Like many of us now, I work from home and spend most of my time here. I also recently got married and we decided to become a one-car family for the time being, since I generally just go out for errands and such. These two things led to a major decision to invest in a HOME GYM. We purchased the works - a SQUAT RACK in the garage (the man cave), WEIGHTS, RESISTANCE BANDS, YOGA MATS, and recently purchased a STATIONARY BIKE (and hopefully soon a TREADMILL).

There was, however, one thing we overlooked. Yes, you guessed it… a MASSAGE GUN. These guns stem from percussive therapy - a massage technique designed to treat soft tissue pain. Now we don’t even have to leave the house to get a great massage - heck we don’t even need another person, we just need this great device for a little TLC after a hard workout.
WHAT THERAGUNS ARE THERE?
THE COMPARISON
Okay, now the meat and potatoes. Let’s take a look at the differences between the four types of Theraguns - the Theragun Pro, Theragun Elite,Theragun Prime and Theragun Mini:

WHAT ABOUT OTHER MASSAGE GUN/PERCUSSIVE THERAPY BRANDS?
Now that you know the difference between the Theraguns, how about a comparison with other brands? There are many other brands that advertise percussive therapy. One brand that particularly sticks out is Hyperice. Many bring this company up as a rival to Theragun, but what are the main differences here?
Without going into a large amount of detail, the main differences are in price. The most expensive Theragun is the Pro which retails for $599 USD. Compare that to the most expensive Hyperice massage gun - the Hypervolt Plus which retails for $399 USD - $200 savings!
Another major difference is the design and grip. Objectively looking at the two guns side-by-side makes this very obvious. The Theragun Pro, Theragun Elite, Theragun Prime and Theragun Mini all have a triangular design that allows the user to handle the gun in various positions, while the HYPERICE MASSAGE GUNS have a tubular handle which makes handling a little bit more challenging. The Theraguns to me also appear more chic and modern, while the Hypervolt looks a bit more chunky.
So overall, if you are looking for a gun that generally performs as well as the Theragun, but don’t want to break the bank and the aesthetic of the massage gun isn’t on the top of the priority list (although might suit many people’s style), the HYPERVOLT may be for you. But if you are able to spend a bit more, are looking for something more pleasing to the eye, and don’t mind spending the extra cash, take a look at the Theraguns!
WHAT DID WE DECIDE TO GET?
My husband and I decided to get the Theragun Prime because it was within our budget and had the aesthetic that I love - minimal, sleek, and monotone. It looks great in our HOME and since we purchased it, we have both been using it every day on ourselves and each other!
